HAIR CARE ROUTINE STEPS FOR HEALTHY HAIR
Every basic haircare routine contains some important steps: cleansing, conditioning, moisturising, detangling, styling and treatment. The frequency of these steps will depend on your hair type, lifestyle and preferences. Let’s cover the basics:
Step 1
Oil massage
How to oil your hair
Massaging the oil into the scalp increases blood circulation, which may improve
hair growth. Applying oil to the scalp may also prevent dandruffTrusted Source.
Follow these steps to give hair oiling a try:
Apply oil on your scalp and massage with fingertips using a circular motion.
Apply the oil left on your palms to your hair.
Cover with a towel or shower cap and leave on overnight.
The next day, shampoo hair while dry. Rinse thoroughly.
Condition as normal. You can also use coconut oil as a conditioner.
Benefits of oiling hair
Oils play an important role in protecting hair from regular wear and tear. Oiling hair regularly reduces hygral fatigueTrusted Source, or the swelling and drying of hair. Oils protect the follicle from surfactants by filling the gap between cuticle cells
step 2
Cleansing
How do I deep clean my scalp?
Are you guilty of rubbing some shampoo, followed by conditioner, on to your hair, rinsing it off, and away you go? This routine’s great for giving your hair a general clean, but it won’t give it a deep-down clean. Plus, your scalp often gets overlooked in the process too. There are a fair few ways to clean your scalp.
1.Massage your scalp
Rather than just plop your products on, really massage them (gently) into your scalp. This can help to improve blood flow, aid the natural process of hair growth and improve the overall condition of your hair.
2. Comb your scalp
Grab a brush and gently comb your scalp gently. In doing so, you’ll help remove the build-up of excess skin and dislodge any debris or dandruff.
3. Use an oil treatment
Massage it onto your scalp, leave it on for the required time, and then wash off to reveal a clean scalp and hair. (Note – steer clear of oil treatments if your hair is blonde and oily, as hair oils are more prone to building up).
Step 3
Condition
How to Use Conditioner After Shampoo
After shampooing and rinsing hair squeeze the appropriate amount of conditioner into the palm of your hand
Apply to the lengths and ends of your hair working into the most damaged areas first
Rinse out the conditioner.
Step 4
Repair with a hair mask
A hair mask, also known as a deep conditioning treatment, is a type of hair conditioner to hydrate and improve overall hair health. Hair masks contain natural oils, natural butters, and plant extracts to boost the hair's moisture and add nutrients to the hair follicles. A hair mask can help repair damage from heat styling, the local environment, and color treatment. Applying hair masks as part of your hair care routine can also improve your scalp health and strengthen your hair.
hair mask safe for hair?
Those with very dry and damaged hair could benefit from using a hydrating hair mask two or three times a week, while those with greasy hair may want to stick to the recommended once a week. If you've got very straight hair, then you should also avoid using a hair mask more than twice a week
Step 5
Treat with head serum
Serum for hair is a thick solution enriched with active ingredients. It helps control frizzy hair, improves growth, and forms a coating over the hair to protect them from environmental stressors. Its regular use can prevent seasonal dryness and a lack of nourishment
Is it good to apply hair serum daily?
Treat your hair with a serum every time you wash your tresses, so, if you wash your hair every day, apply your serum daily. It helps protect your hair from environmental aggressors and provides moisture. Since your hair is brittle and dry after washing, it is recommended to use serum on wash day
